If you are anything like me, you have a love hate relationship with salad. Love to hate it right?! 😜Just kidding, but honestly, salad is not at the top of my meal list. There is only so much you can do to a bowl of lettuce, kale, and other veggies.
And yes I know there are extra toppings to spice it up. Eggs, cheese, olives, peppers, croutons, DRESSING!!!
But it’s hard to keep a salad healthy and all natural when adding these things. ESPECIALLY the dressing. Smothering your salad in ranch or honey mustard basically defeats the purpose of eating those greens.
Personally, before my all-natural journey began, I was a ranch fan. Still am, because let’s be real, you can’t eat hot wings without ranch dressing. 🤷
So no judgement, but it’s definitely a good idea to keep any sugar-filled yummy dressing to a minimum.
So what should you flavor a salad with?
After tasting the options available on the shelf, I quickly realized I needed to figure out what flavors I liked and make my own.
I created an all-natural salad dressing to solve the problem. And it’s yummy, I promise!
If you like fancy balsamic and strongly flavored olive-oil dressings, then this is not for you.
(I don’t care how trendy those dressings are, they are not yummy to me.)
So because I love my readers and want to help, I will share MY natural solution to unhealthy salad dressings below!
All-Natural Salad Dressing Recipe
- 1 cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Using half Avocado Oil works as well.)
- Splash of Red Wine Vinegar
- Splash of Apple Cider Vinegar (Learn about the health benefits of ACV by clicking here.)
- One Lime
- Salt/Pepper/Garlic Powder
Use a container that pours well.
Squeeze the juice of one lime into the vinegar and oil.
Shake or Whisk well.
Season to taste with salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc.
BONUS: You can use your favorite spices to personalize this dressing!
Add your favorite flavors, just be careful to not over-season.
